Skiing Meribel Mottaret

Méribel Mottaret sits at 1700-1800m in the heart of the 3 Valleys ski area giving access to 600km of groomed piste and some of the best off-piste terrain in the Alps.  Mottaret is a purpose-built village which has retained the traditional alpine chalet style architecture.

Skiing in Meribel

Snow can be guaranteed for all of the season with Mottaret being amongst Europe’s highest resorts. The Meribel Valley ski pass covers the slopes in both Meribel Mottaret and Meribel. This is an area of approximately 170 km of pisted runs plus ample of off piste for the more advanced skiers and boarders. There is a great selection of pistes from green to black to keep all abilities happy. The snow parks have also been designed to cater for all abilities and there is an air bag for the more adventurous. The nursery slopes are free and equipped with covered moving carpets to get you up the slopes without the need for walking up the hill with your skis.
The ski area goes up as high as 3,230 metres (3 Valleys) and there is even a zip wire linking Orelle to Val Thorens where your are put into a harness, skis strapped to your back and then sent on your way at approx 80km per hour speed!
There are many lively bars and restaurants on the slopes such as The Folie Douce and Ronnies for some Apres Ski drinks and dancing followed by the live bands and acts in the town centre bars.  The Apres Ski and activities of things to do other than skiing are wide an varied and amongst the best in the Alps.
When the ski lift links are open access to Les Menuires, Val Thorens, Orelle, Courchevel and La Tania offer you the largest ski area in the World for an extra 56€ per 6 days (aged 13+). It’s great to ski down to Meribel then cross the valley and ski to Courchevel for lunch. Whilst in the area ski the tree lined runs of La Tania but make sure you catch the last lift back to Meribel. On another day ski the other side and visit Les Menuires, Val Thorens and Orelle.
